“Guidance for My Daughter”

Daughter, I want to ask you that, when you give your heart, do so knowing that the one by your side is a man who will love and appreciate you for the woman you are.

I want to ask you to fall in love with a real man; one who gazes at you like a man in love; and who gets lost in the sparkle of your eyes, even in the dark. Fall in love with a man for whom you are the only woman in this world; and who is capable of building you a castle, even if he only has a pencil and paper.

I can’t ask you to fall in love with a man who does everything; however, I ask you to fall in love with a man who is willing to do everything for you.

I want you to fall in love with a man with enough manliness to cook at night, or when you’re tired. A man who can sew a button on your favorite blouse so you can make it on time to that meeting; and why not, who whispers in your ear that: everything will be okay.

Fall in love with a man who values God, family, and friends. For in life, he will need all of them. And if he’s a thief, make sure he only steals a few kisses; for he will have already stolen your heart.

I want you to fall in love with the one who caresses your face and plays with your hair, so you’ll know his mind is only with you. Anyone can say “I love you”; but love is shown every day, in the small “I care”…
