“The art of poetry”

Poetry is an art,
that can sometimes be hard to start,
but once it begins,
it can be hard to part.

Inspiration can come from anywhere,
from nature, music, or love so fair,
and though it may be hard to find,
it's always there, waiting in some kind.

A long poem is what you ask,
and though I'm not sure of your task,
I'll do my best, you see,
to create something that sets you free.

Perhaps I'll speak of the beauty of the sea,
or the majesty of mountains, oh so free,
or maybe the sweetness of a kiss,
or the sadness of goodbyes we miss.

But whatever I decide to write,
I hope it makes you feel alive and bright,
and reminds you life is beautiful, it's true,
there's always something to live for, too.
